Episode review: episode 10 " A Royal Problem"

Welcome back (or if you're new, welcome) to the official Pony Press News Journal website! In this article, I'll be reviewing the latest episode of My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic, A Royal Problem!

NOTE: This episode was really weird in the pace of the episode, so if you see any weird summaries, that's the way the episode was.

The episode starts with Twilight going crazy over the fact that Starlight has been summoned to Canterlot by the Cutie Map. Yup, that's the entire thing that happened before the theme song.

After the theme song, Starlight starts talking to Princesses Celestia and Luna about the fact that she has been summoned by the Cutie Map to fix a friendship problem in the castle, during which Starlight noticed that there was something wrong.

She then heads to her room in the castle, only to discover that Twilight has a weird music box form thing (sorry, I don't even know what to call that, again, the episode was weird) to spy on Starlight.

Starlight first learns that Princess Celestia makes pancakes every morning for Luna and herself, of which Luna never eats.

After Starlight notices that Celestia is a little hurt by Luna's rejection of her pancakes, she then learns that Luna replaces the lavender frequently to help Celestia get a better sleep, again, of which the other doesn't seem to notice.

After an argument between the Two Sisters, Starlight casts a spell that switches their Cutie Marks (this seems generic) for 24 hours to learn what it's like to be in the other's shoes.

And even though that was a lot of the episode, that sets up the short plot! Now it's time for the review!

First of all, I really love that Celestia actually does something other than smile and be, normally, the most annoying pony to walk on Equestria, making smiling pancakes that Luna never eats. Also on an unrelated note, they also had Starlight's weird eating animation in this episode that always cracks me up!

Another thing that I noticed was the fact that, again, Celestia was portrayed as the better pony and I actually liked her in this episode. I never thought I would say that again after Celestial Advice, the other Celestia episode.

Now time for the only negative thing I have to say about this episode other than the length of the plot, pacing!

Although the episode overall was pretty good, the pacing removes points from this episode because of the fact that it felt like they were rushing in order to get the episode done in time. That's the only thing that I have to complain about and that isn't much at all, along with the sheer randomness of this episode.

I'm sorry for such a short and late review of this episode, but I've been, to be honest, really unmotivated lately and I don't want to put you to sleep because of the fact that I've rambled for hours without stopping.

So I bet you're wondering what rating I'm going to give to this episode and after thinking long and hard, I'm going to give it a 7/10 just because of pacing and oddness of the episode.

So with this episode review wraped up and shipped, I'm going to leave you with the rating for every episode and the average for this season so far! I hope you enjoy and, as always, stay Brony my friends!
